The Connecticut Department of Transportation announced today that the Exit 16 off-ramp from Route 2 eastbound will be closed Thursday night, June 12, 2008, between the hours of 7:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.

Detour signs will advise eastbound Route 2 motorists to use Exit 17, take a left off the exist to an immediate stop sign and then a left onto South Main Street for approximately two (2) miles.

This work is part of the ongoing project to resurface Route 2 between Exits 12 and 16 in Colchester and Marlborough.

This $22.5 million project is being undertaken by Manafort Brothers, Inc. of Plainville, Connecticut under contract with the Department of Transportation.  The project is scheduled to be completed by October 2008.
