Realignment of Traffic between Deerfield Road and Sharp Hill Road in Wilton Scheduled for Tuesday Night, October 28, 2008.

The Connecticut Department of Transportation announced today that on Tuesday night, October 28, 2008, between 8:00pm and 6:00am, the contractor will be shifting traffic on Route 7 between Deerfield Road and just south of Sharp Hill Road to construct the eastern side of the roadway. The work will take place, weather permitting.

Motorists traveling northbound will be shifted onto new pavement on the west side of the road while motorists traveling southbound will continue straight on the newly constructed pavement.  The realignment is scheduled to remain in place until the spring of 2009.

Motorists should expect delays, as there may be alternating one-way traffic and short, intermittent traffic stoppages as the work takes place.  Wilton police will be available to direct traffic and assist motorists during this time.

Please use caution when traveling through the construction work zone to ensure the safety of motorists and construction personnel.
