Wilton, Connecticut – Connecticut Department of Transportation officials announced today that on Thursday night, September 11, 2008, between 8:00pm and 6:00am Friday morning, the contractor will be shifting traffic on Route 7 between Deerfield Road and Crowne Pond Lane south of Ridgefield Road. 

The traffic shift is necessary for the construction of the eastern side of the roadway. The work will take place, weather permitting, with a rain date scheduled for Friday night, September 12, 2008.

Motorists traveling both northbound and southbound will be shifted onto new pavement on the west side of the road.  The realignment is scheduled to remain in place until the summer of 2009.

Motorists should expect delays, as there will be alternating one-way traffic and short, intermittent traffic stoppages as the work takes place.  Wilton police will be available to direct traffic and assist motorists during this time.

Please use caution when traveling through the construction work zone to ensure the safety of motorists and construction personnel.
