The Department of Transportation announced today, that the Exit 13 off and on ramps on the  westbound side of Route 2 will be closed for paving between 6:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. beginning Wednesday evening, July 9, 2008 to Thursday morning, July 10, 2008.

Signs will advise westbound Route 2 motorists to use Exit 15, take a left off the exit onto South Main Street for approximately two (2) miles to Route 66, then a right turn onto Route 66.  The alternate route for the Exit 13 on-ramp to Route 2 westbound will be a detour down North Main Street to the westbound on-ramp at Exit 12.

This work is part of the ongoing project to resurface Route 2 between Exits 12 and 16 in Colchester and Marlborough.

Work on this $22.5 million project is being performed by Manafort Brothers, Inc. of Plainville, Connecticut under contract with the Department of Transportation.  The anticipated completion date for this project is in October 2008.

Motorists are urged to obey the posted speed limit and precede with caution through this and all other construction work zones.
