Minor Traffic Shift on Route 7 in Wilton from Station Access Road to just south of School Road Scheduled December 2, 2008

The Connecticut Department of Transportation announced today that a minor traffic shift on Route 7, between Station Access Road to just south of School Road, is scheduled to take place during the day on Tuesday, December 2, 2008, between 10:00am and 2:00pm, weather permitting.

In the event of inclement weather, the rain dates will be either Wednesday or Thursday, December 3 or 4, 2008.

Route 7 northbound and southbound traffic will be shifted to the middle of the roadway, on the existing pavement, to allow for work on both sides of the road.

Motorists may experience delays, due to short, intermittent traffic stoppages, while the work takes place.

The work is in association with the reconstruction project on Route 7 in Wilton that will accommodate two travel lanes, both northbound and southbound, for a length of approximately three miles from Wolfpit Road to Olmstead Hill Road.  The project is scheduled for completion in April 2010.

Please use caution when traveling through the construction work zone to ensure the safety of motorists and construction personnel.
