NEWINGTON, Conn.-Acting Transportation Commissioner H. James Boice announced today that Milling, Resurfacing and Roadway Restoration work will be performed by CL & P under permit on Route 1 in Norwalk, Westport & Fairfield and on Route 130 in Fairfield & Bridgeport.  This project is scheduled to begin on or about Tuesday, May 27, 2008 and continue through October 2008.

The work will be performed on Route 1 from Route 123 in Norwalk to the Route 130 junction in Fairfield.  The work will occur on Route 130 from Route 1 in Fairfield to Railroad Avenue in Bridgeport.                                 

Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone.  The regular work schedule for the Roadway Restoration portion is 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (Monday – Friday). The Milling and Paving operations will be performed during the evening hours from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. (Monday – Thursday evenings)

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.  Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving through the work area.
