NEWINGTON, Conn. - State Transportation Commissioner Joseph F. Marie announced today that a Milling and Resurfacing project will be performed on I-84 (eastbound & westbound) from Exit 70 (Route 32) to the Mass. State Line, in Willington, Ashford & Union.  This project is scheduled to begin on or about Sunday, June 22, 2008 and continue through Thursday, September 4, 2008.

Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone.  The regular work schedule for the project is 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. (Sunday – Thursday evenings). No work will be conducted the day before or after the Holidays.

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.  Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving through the work area.
