NEWINGTON, Conn.-State Transportation Commissioner Joseph F. Marie announced today that the ongoing Milling and Resurfacing project being performed on I-84 (east & west) from Route 320 (exit 71) to the Mass. State Line in Ashford/Union has been extended. This project is expected to continue through Wednesday, September 24, 2008.

Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone.  The regular work schedule for this project is 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. (Monday – Thursday evenings) and 10:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. (Friday and Sunday evenings). 

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.  Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving through the work area.
