NEWINGTON, Conn.-State Transportation Commissioner Joseph F. Marie announced today a change in starting times for the ongoing Milling and Resurfacing project on I-84 (eastbound and westbound) from Route 6 to the Rochambeau Bridge in Newtown. This project had begun on Wednesday, July 30, 2008 and will continue through Thursday, September 18, 2008.

Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The regular work schedule for this project is now 10:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. (Sunday evenings), 7:30 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. (Monday & Tuesday evenings) and 9:00 p.m. – 5:00 a.m. (Wednesday & Thursday evenings)

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.  Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving through the work area.
