Emergency Repairs to Route 102 in Ridgefield Project 117156

The Department of Transportation announced that, weather permitting, the commencement of emergency repairs to Route 102 in Ridgefield in the vicinity of Grime’s Pond on Monday, October 6, 2008. The existing masonry retaining wall supporting the roadway has significantly deteriorated. These repairs require immediate action and therefore will require the closure of Route 102. The project is scheduled for completion in November 2008. Bourgeois and Shaw of Simsbury, CT will be performing this work.

Motorists are to expect Route 102 to be closed to through traffic beginning on Monday October 6, 2008. This road closure will remain in effect 24 hours per day for approximately 2 months.

Variable message boards will be installed for advance notice of the closure.

Detour plans will be in effect during the closure. Please follow the posted signs.
