NEWINGTON, Conn.-State Transportation Commissioner Joseph F. Marie announced today that a Drainage Repair project will be performed on

Route 83 from Brook Road to Hoffman Road in Ellington. This project is scheduled to occur on or about Saturday, October 25, 2008. The road will be closed while the work is taking place and a posted detour will be in effect.

Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone.  The regular work schedule for this project is 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. (Saturday). 

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.  Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving through the work area.
