Repair of Bridge No. 00218

SR 450 (Hammonasset Connector) over I-95

Madison, Connecticut

The Department of Transportation announced today that continuing repair work on the bridge carrying the Hammonasset Connector over Interstate 95 in Madison (exit 62) will require occasional nighttime lane closures through March and April 2008, as follows:

I- 95 Southbound

Monday through Friday:  Between 7:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m., one through lane.

Saturdays & Sundays:  Between 9:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m., one through lane.

Traffic may be halted for a period not to exceed ten minutes for the removal and setting of structural steel between the hours 12:01 a.m. and 5:00 a.m.

I-95 Northbound

Monday through Friday:  Between 7:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m., one through lane.

Saturdays & Sundays:  Between 9:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m., one through lane.

During peak traffic hours and on and holidays, all existing traffic lanes will remain open.

Work on this $800,000 emergency repair project is being performed by New England Road, Inc. of Clinton, Connecticut under contract with the Connecticut Department of Transportation.
