Construction work starting for the Reconstruction of Bridge No. 00621, Route 154 over Chester Creek, in the Town of Chester.

The Connecticut Department of Transportation announced today that work has begun on the bridge carrying Route 154 over Chester Creek in Chester. The public should expect periodic lane closures for the next couple of weeks in preparation for a full closure in December 2008.

An additional press release will be sent out as soon as the exact date of closure is known along with the detour route that will be in effect.

The contract was awarded to Pondview Construction, Inc. of Willington, CT, at a cost of $5,448,818.00 and is scheduled for completion in May 2010.
