The Department of Transportation announced, weather permitting, the commencement of construction activities for the Drainage Improvements on Route 179 at Cherry Brook on Monday, September 29, 2008.  The project is scheduled to be a one day operation.  Hemlock Construction Co., Inc. of Torrington, CT will be performing this work.

Traffic Operations

Motorists are to expect alternating one way traffic.

The allowable work hours are as follows:

U.S. Route 179 - Monday, September 29, 2008 between 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Construction signs, uniformed Traffic control personnel, and Local Police will be utilized for traffic control.

Motorists are advised to abide by the posted speed limit and expect traffic delays.
