Bridge joint rehabilitation work scheduled for the Moses Wheeler Bridge, Interstate 95 over the Housatonic River between Exit 33 to 34 in the towns of Stratford and Milford.

Milford/Stratford, CT- The Connecticut Department of Transportation announced today that construction activity will be occurring on the Moses Wheeler Bridge on I-95 between Stratford and Milford on Wednesday night, August 27th beginning at 8 p.m. until 6 a.m. the following day.

The work will affect both northbound and southbound traffic between Exits 33 and 34 in the towns of Milford and Stratford.  The work will require the closing of two of the three lanes in each direction during the overnight hours. The work is expected to last only one night and will include repairs to the asphaltic bridge joints.

To avoid travel delays through the area please plan ahead and consider alternate routes to get to your destination. 

§         All vehicles including trucks may use Routes 25 and 8, Route 9, I-91, I-691, I-84 and I- 684 in New York.  Permitted oversize/overweight vehicles must follow planned route.

§         Non-restricted vehicles that are registered as passenger, camper, taxi, vanpool or combination vehicles may also use Route 15 (Merritt and Wilbur Cross Parkways).
