NEWINGTON, Conn. -  State Transportation Commissioner Joseph F. Marie announced today that routine Bridge Safety Inspection work will be performed on Route 3 (southbound) over the Connecticut River  between I-91 and Route 2  at the Glastonbury and Wethersfield town line (Putnam Bridge). This project is scheduled to take place on or about Tuesday November 11 through Friday November 14, 2008. 

 

The right lane in the southbound direction will be closed during this work – the left lane and the ramps to I-91 will remain open. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone.  The regular work schedule for this project is 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.  

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.  Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving through the work area.
