NEWINGTON, Conn. -  State Transportation Commissioner Joseph F. Marie announced today that Bridge Inspection work will be performed on Route 3 (northbound) over the Connecticut River  between I-91 and Route 2  at the Glastonbury and Wethersfield town line (Putnam Bridge). This project is scheduled to take place on or about Monday December 8 through Friday December 12, 2008.

The right lane in the northbound direction will be closed during this work – the left lane and the ramps from I-91 will remain open. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone.  The regular work schedule for this project is 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.  

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.  Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving through the work area.
