NEWINGTON, Conn. -  State Transportation Commissioner Joseph F. Marie announced today that Bridge Safety Inspection work will be performed on

I-95 (northbound) between Exits 82 and 84 between New London and Groton over the Thames River (Gold Star Memorial Bridge). This project is scheduled to take place on or about Monday August 18, 2008.

Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone.  The regular work schedule for this project is 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.  

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.  Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving through the work area.
