NEWINGTON, Conn. - State Transportation Commissioner Joseph F. Marie announced today that Bridge Safety Inspection work will be performed on

I-84 (eastbound and westbound) between Exits 46 and 49 in Hartford. This project is scheduled to take place on or about Tuesday August 12, 2008.

The work consists of a testing vehicles moving at approximate speeds of

30 m.p.h. with a rolling sign pattern utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The regular work schedule for this project is 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.  

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.  Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving through the work area.
