The Department of Transportation announced weather permitting, the installation of the Stage 1 Traffic Shift for the Replacement of Bridge #00431, Route 4 over the Farmington Riveron will start on Thursday, July 17, 2008 at approximately 9:00 p.m. and be completed by 6:00 a.m. on Friday, July 18, 2008. This traffic pattern will allow partial deck removal on the southern side of the existing bridge. This pattern will be in effect for approximately 1 year and will continue to maintain the existing number of lanes of traffic on Route 4 through the construction work zone.

Traffic Operations

Alternating one-way traffic may be encountered between 9:00 pm and 6:00 am Monday through Friday, and 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., Saturdays and Sundays.

Traffic may be halted to expedite construction for up to ten (10) minutes from 12:01 am through 5:00 am.

Construction signs, Uniformed Traffic Control, and Local Police will be utilized for traffic control.

Motorists are advised to reduce their speed accordingly through the work zone.
