The Department of Transportation announced today that Route 44 (Avon Mountain) will have reduced lanes starting immediately.

Motorists are advised that there is currently a lane shift along Route 44 in Avon from the intersection with Route 10 and Nod Road to the West Hartford-Avon town line.  Traffic is reduced to one lane in each direction to facilitate construction of new drainage structures, rock excavation, and the full depth reconstruction of Rte. 44.
