NEWINGTON, Conn. - State Transportation Commissioner Ralph J. Carpenter announced today that a Roadway Sweeping project will be performed on Route 8 (North & South), in Waterbury, Naugatuck, Seymour, Ansonia & Derby.  This project is expected to take place on Thursday, June 21, 2007.

The project will occur on Route 8 from the intersection of I-84 to Route 34 (exit 15) in the left lane. 

Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone.  The regular work schedule for this project is 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. (Thursday evening). 

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.  Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area.
