NEWINGTON, Conn. - State Transportation Commissioner Ralph J. Carpenter announced today that a Roadway Sweeping project will be performed on I-84 (east & west), between Exits 17 and 26, in Waterbury/Middlebury.  This project is expected to take place on Thursday, July 19, 2007.

Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone.  The regular work schedule for this project is 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. (Thursday evening). 

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.  Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area.
