NEWINGTON, Conn. - State Transportation Commissioner Ralph J. Carpenter announced today that a Resurfacing project will be performed on Route 42, from just east of the Prospect Town Line to Inverness Court, in Cheshire.  This project is scheduled to begin on or about Wednesday, October 10, 2007 and continue through Thursday, October 11, 2007.   

Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone.  The regular work schedule for this project is 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (Wednesday – Thursday). 

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.  Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving through the work area.
