Route 2
EAST HARTFORD TO GLASTONBURY

The Department of Transportation announced today that beginning on June 25, 2007, the Arborio Construction Co., will begin Resurfacing, Bridge and Safety Improvements on Route 2 in the towns of East Hartford and Glastonbury. In order to complete the work with the least impact to motorists the majority of the work will be done at night between the hours of 8 p.m. until 6 am. Monday thru Friday eastbound and westbound. The anticipated completion date is November 2008.

Traffic Notice:

Route 2

Motorists should expect lane closures:

· Exit 5C(Maple St., East Hartford) and through Exit 8(Hebron Ave., Glastonbury)

Monday thru Friday eastbound and westbound.

· Existing traffic operations will be maintained between 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 pm.

· Expect Shoulder and lane closures all other times.

Construction signs, Traffic drums, and State Police will be utilized for traffic control.

Motorists should use caution through the work zone and reduce their speed accordingly.
