Project # 34-315

City of Danbury, Town of Ridgefield, Connecticut

Route 7

Reconstruction of Route 7

Danbury, CT- The Department of Transportation announced today that, weather permitting, starting on or about April 23, Starrs Plain Road will be closed to all traffic at Route 7.  The alternate route to access Route 7 will be West Starrs Plain Road.  This closure will last approximately one week.  This will facilitate constructing the new Route 7/Starrs Plain Road intersection in its final configuration. Tilcon of North Branford, CT will be performing this work.

In addition, the contractor will begin night time paving and drainage operations the week of April 23rd.  Paving will begin after 6:00 pm and finish by 7:00 am.  Drainage work may require alternating one-way traffic.  If alternating one-way traffic is required, it will be between 10:00 pm and 6:00 am.  These operations will be intermittent through the summer construction season.

Traffic Operations

Existing traffic will be maintained between the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m., and 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.  On the weekends, existing traffic will be maintained 10:00 am through 9:00 pm.  As noted above, alternating one-way traffic may be encountered at other times.  Expect delays during the day.

Motorists are urged to use caution through the work zones and should reduce their speed accordingly.

Construction signs and Local Police will be utilized for traffic control.
