Project No. 81-83, Middletown, Middlefield
Reconstruction of Route 66

The Department of Transportation announced today that beginning on May 29, 2007 to June 1, 2007 there will be bituminous paving activities in Middlefield along Route 66 between 7:00am and 4:00pm. There will be intermittent closures of the following streets at their intersections with Route 66.

  • Ballfall Road - The detour route will be Lorraine Terrace.
  • Camp Street -   The motorists traveling on Route 66 eastbound will be detoured by Ballfall Rd. to Camp St.  The motorists traveling on Route 66 westbound will be detoured to Old Mill Rd. to Camp St.
  • Lorraine Terrace - The detour route will be BallFall Road.
  • Peters Lane – The detour route will be Jackson Hill Road.
  • George Street - The detour route for motorists traveling on Route 66 westbound will be from Boston Rd. to George St.  Traffic on Rt.66 Eastbound will be detoured to Peters Lane to Spring St. to George St.
Detour signs will be posted. Motorists are reminded to drive carefully through the work zones and obey all the signs and speed limits.
