NEWINGTON, Conn. - State Transportation Commissioner Ralph J. Carpenter announced today that a permit activity will be performed on Route 8 (northbound & southbound) between Exits 37 and 40, in Watertown/Thomaston. This project is expected to take place on Thursday, August 9, 2007 & Friday August 10, 2007 in the slow speed lane.
Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The regular work schedule for this project is 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (Thursday - Friday).
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area.
