Route 7, Wilton
Traffic Shifts Scheduled At Night
October 17 & 18, 2007

Wilton, Connecticut Connecticut Department of Transportation officials have announced that there will be two traffic shifts on Route 7 in Wilton, where motorists will travel from the existing pavement to newly constructed pavement.  The dates and locations of the traffic shifts are as follows:

  • Wednesday, October 17, from 8:00pm to 6:00am:  traffic shift is between Ridgefield Road (Route 33) and Crowne Pond.   There will be one-way alternating traffic through the area during this timeframe and Wilton police will be available to direct traffic and assist motorists.
  • Thursday, October 18, from 8:00pm to 6:00am:  traffic shift is between School Road and Cannon Road.  Due to the longer length of the roadway involved in this traffic shift, motorists should expect delays, as there may be intermittent traffic stoppages during this timeframe for the work to be accomplished.  Wilton police will be available to direct traffic and assist motorists.

The traffic shifts will take place, weather permitting.  In case of inclement weather on either night, the work will be rescheduled to Friday night, October 19, 2007.

The work is part of the overall project to widen Route 7 in Wilton that will accommodate two travel lanes, both northbound and southbound, for a length of approximately three miles from Wolfpit Road to Olmstead Hill Road. The project is scheduled for completion in April 2010.

Please use caution and follow the posted speed limit when traveling through the construction work zone to ensure the safety of motorists and construction personnel.
