NEWINGTON, Conn.- State Transportation Commissioner Ralph J. Carpenter announced today that a Milling and Resurfacing project will be performed on Route 6, from Old Ridgebury Road to Driftway Road, in Danbury.  This project is scheduled to begin on or about Sunday, August 26, 2007 and continue to Friday, September 7, 2007.

Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone.  The regular work schedule for this project is 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. (Sunday – Thursday evenings).  No work will take place on Fridays or Saturdays.

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.  Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving through the work area.
