NEWINGTON, Conn.- State Transportation Commissioner Ralph J. Carpenter announced today that a Milling and Resurfacing project will be performed on Route 217, from the Middlefield Town Line to Route 372, in Middletown.  This project is scheduled to begin on or about Wednesday, October 3, 2007 and continue through Wednesday, October 17, 2007.

Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone.  The regular work schedule for this project is 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (Mondays – Saturdays).  No work is scheduled for Sundays.

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.  Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving through the work area.
