NEWINGTON, Conn.- State Transportation Commissioner Ralph J. Carpenter announced today that a Milling and Resurfacing project will be performed on Route 162 (Sawmill Road), from Kelsey Avenue to just north of York Street, in West Haven.  This project is scheduled to begin on or about Thursday, September 20, 2007 and continue to Wednesday, September 26, 2007.

Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone.  The regular work schedule for this project is 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. (Monday - Friday evenings).  No work is scheduled for Saturdays or Sundays.  

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.  Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving through the work area.
