NEWINGTON, Conn. - State Transportation Commissioner Ralph J. Carpenter announced today that an Illumination Repair project will be performed on Route 8 (Northbound) at Exit 32 Ramp (Down Town Waterbury), in Waterbury. This project is expected to take place on Sunday, June 24, 2007.   The ramp will be closed while the work is being performed and a posted detour will be in effect.

Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone.  The regular work schedule for this project is 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. (Sunday). 

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.  Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area.
