NEWINGTON, Conn.-State Transportation Commissioner Ralph J. Carpenter announced today that a Guide Rail Installation project will be performed on Routes 12 and 131, in Thompson.  This project is scheduled to begin on or about Monday, June 4, 2007 and continue through Monday, July 2, 2007.

The work will take place on Route 12 from Route 131 to the MA State Line and on Route 131 from Route 12 to Route 197.

Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone.  The regular work schedule for this project is 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. (Monday-Friday).  No work will take place on Saturdays or Sundays.

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.  Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving through the work area.
