  The Department of Transportation announced today that beginning March 21, 2007, Construction will begin to realign the intersection of Route 83 and Parker Road (Site #1), as well as, intersection improvements at Route 190 and Gulf Road (Site #2). 

Construction limits for Site #1 begin and end approximately nine hundred feet north and south, in each direction, on Route 83 at Parker Road and approximately five hundred feet east on Parker Road.   Construction limits for Site #2 begin and end approximately six hundred feet, east and west in each direction, on Route 190 and approximately one hundred feet north and south on Turnpike and Gulf Roads.

                The work on Site #1 involves the realignment of Route 83 with Parker Road, grading and drainage improvements, as well as, a temporary traffic signal  on Route 83 for the purpose of installing drainage.  Work on Site #2 will involve minor widening on Route 190, as well as, drainage improvements and traffic signal replacement.

                Alternating one way traffic will be utilized to channel traffic around the work zone areas.   Construction signs, traffic cones and traffic drums will be used to maintain and protect traffic.  All work is expected to be completed by October, 2007.
