NEWINGTON, Conn. - State Transportation Commissioner Ralph J. Carpenter announced today that a Bridge Maintenance project will be performed on Route 8 (southbound) between Exits 30 and 28, in Waterbury.  This project is expected to take place on Monday, August 13, 2007.  Rain date: Wednesday, August 15, 2007.

Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone.  The regular work schedule for this project is 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. (Monday evening). There will be alternating lane closures while the work is being performed.  

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.  Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area.
