NEWINGTON, Conn. - State Transportation Commissioner Ralph J. Carpenter announced today that a Bridge Maintenance project will be performed on Route 130 (Stratford Ave.) over the Yellow Mill River, in Bridgeport.  This project is scheduled to take place on or about Tuesday, July 31, 2007 & Wednesday, August 1, 2007. The bridge will be closed to vehicular traffic while the work is being performed and a posted detour will be in effect.

Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the detour.  The regular work schedule for the project is 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (Tuesday-Wednesday). 

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.  Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
