NEWINGTON, Conn. - State Transportation Commissioner Ralph J. Carpenter announced today that Bridge Maintenance project will be performed on I-84 (eastbound & westbound) between Exits 47 and 49 (Aetna Viaduct Area), in Hartford.  This project is scheduled to begin on Monday, June 4, 2007 and continue through Thursday, June 7, 2007.

Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone.  The regular work schedule for the project is 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. (Monday - Thursday evenings).  There will be alternating lane closures while the work is taking place. 

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.  Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving through the work area.
