Press Release

Project  # 34 - 315

City of Danbury and Town of Ridgefield, Connecticut

Route 7

Reconstruction of U.S. Route 7

The Department of Transportation announced today that, weather permitting, starting on March 27th, all traffic lanes will be shifted to the east side of the existing pavement on Route 7 from just north of the Route 35 intersection to West Starrs Plain Road, until further notice.  This will facilitate widening the pavement on the west side of the roadway.

Starting the week of April 3rd, the above project will commence working nights for approximately six to eight weeks for drainage installations across Route 7.  The affected area will be between the Danbury Airport and the Route 35 intersection.  This work will require one-way alternating traffic. The contractor’s hours will be from 10PM to 6AM.

Also, starting the week of April 3rd, the above project will begin daytime closures of Starrs Plain Road at Route 7 between 7AM and 3:30PM for approximately two months. This closure will facilitate the work to re-align the Starrs Plain Road intersection.  Motorists are advised to use West Starrs Plain Road as an alternate.  Detour signs will be posted.
