Reconstruction of Dodge Avenue in East Haven
State Transportation Commissioner Stephen E. Korta has announced today that work will commence Monday, May 8, 2006 on the 12 month project for the reconstruction of Dodge Avenue in East Haven.
Effective Monday, Dodge Avenue will be closed to thru traffic from the intersection of Burr Street to Robert Drive, for approximately two weeks with the exception of emergency vehicles. Traffic will be diverted onto Burr Street, Gerrish Avenue and Robert Drive and detour signs will be posted to assist motorists through the area during the closure.
When this phase of construction is complete, there will be daily lane closures with alternating one-way traffic on Dodge Avenue, for construction activity between 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
The work is being performed by DeRita Construction of Middletown, CT under a $2.1 million-dollar contract with the State Department of Transportation. The project is scheduled to be completed by December 1, 2006.
