The Department of Transportation announced today that on Monday, December 18, 2006, weather permitting, Rizzo Electrical Contractors, Inc. of Danbury, Connecticut will begin installing a weather station and variable message signs on Route 44 (Avon Mountain).  These installations are part of a new Incident Management System in Avon and West Hartford.  

This work is scheduled to take place Monday through Friday, between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.  Traffic flow will be maintained in both directions.  The right shoulder and occasional right lane closure will be required.  Motorists should anticipateonly minor delays.
