Special Provision template rules!
- SpecHead1 should be used for Title of Special Provision
- SpecHead2 should be used for Sub-Title or Article of Special Provision
Instructions for converting a Special Provision document to the new template.
- Click the Special Provision Template link at the bottom of the page.
- Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome will give the option to download and save the file in a preferred location.
- Click File/Open
- Select and open Special Provision Template file.
- Select and open existing Special Provision file
- Click Edit/Select All
- Click Edit/Copy
- Click File/Close (return to template)
- Find each Special Provision heading and change it to the appropriate format
- Select desired heading (by highlighting)
- Click Format/Style
- Select appropriate Style (SpecHead1 or SpecHead2 as outlined above)
- Click Apply
- Change or Delete the Header and Footer data (Revision Date and Item Number/General)
- Click View/Header/Footer
- Change or Delete the Revision Date at the top of the page
- Change the Rev. Date
- Click Switch between Header and Footer button on the Header/Footer toolbar.
- Double-click on the word GENERAL
- Type Notice to contractor, Section number or ITEM plus Item number (ex. NOTICE TO CONTRACTOR, SECTION 1.20, OR ITEM #0999999A-ALL CAPS)
- Click the word Close on the Header and Footer toolbar
- Verify/Change Font
- Click Edit/Select All
- Click Format/Font
- Select Times New Roman, if needed
- Click OK
- Click File/Save As
- Type corresponding name (ex: NTC - Use of State Police Officer, 1.08.03 - Prosecution and Progress,0520036A - Asphaltic Plug Joint)
- Follow the instructions in the Digital Project Development Manual (DPDM) for the location in SharePoint where these files are to be uploaded.
- Click save
