On-The-Job Training (OJT)
The OJT program supports CTDOT’s efforts to provide construction industry related job opportunities to minorities, women and economically disadvantaged individuals; and to increase the likelihood of a diverse and inclusive workforce on Connecticut Department of Transportation projects.
The OJT Workforce Development Pilot has been prepared through the cooperative efforts of the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA Connecticut), the United States Department of Labor (US DOL), Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT), Department of Labor (DOL), the Construction Industry, and the Trade Unions.
The OJT program is a project-based program and trainees are hired and supervised by contractors working on FHWA projects.
