Rehabilitation of the Northbound Bridge

Project 0094-0235 includes the rehabilitation of The Gold Star Memorial Bridge carrying Interstate 95 Northbound over the Thames River, New England Central Railroad, Providence and Worcester Railroad and local roads in New London and Groton.

The Northbound Gold Star Memorial Bridge is undergoing the design of a full concrete deck replacement across the entire Northbound bridge.  

A public information meeting will be held in early 2024 to present the proposed project. Based on the current schedule, construction is anticipated to begin in the summer of 2025 with an estimated completion in the spring of 2029. See the full project schedule below.
