Securities Advisory Council
to the Department of Banking

The Banking Commissioner appoints a Securities Advisory Council with members drawn from the private sector and academia. The purpose of the Advisory Council is to provide non-binding advice, recommendations and suggested technical assistance to the agency on matters affecting the administration of Connecticut's securities laws, the promulgation of related agency regulations and policies, and agency-sponsored investor education programs, including an annual Securities Forum conference. Members serve voluntarily and receive no compensation.

The Council's charter instructs the body to give primary consideration to the protection of investors as well as to the promotion of capital formation in Connecticut.
