Troopers Seek Suspect ID in Essex Armed Robbery
On August 27, 2017 at approximately 8:55 p.m., troopers from Troop F-Westbrook responded to the Mobil Gas Station located at 55 Main St. in the Centerbrook section of Essex for a reported armed robbery.
Upon arrival troopers spoke with the gas station clerk who related that at approximately 8:00 p.m, a male wearing a camouflage hooded jacket, white handkerchief-style mask, three-quarter length dark shorts, and dark sneakers with white soles entered the store, approached the front counter armed with a knife and demanded money from the clerk.
The clerk believed the male suspect was joking at first and refused to turn over any money, but realized he was serious and gave the male suspect an undisclosed amount of money.
After taking the money, the male suspect left the store and was last seen heading south on Main St. in Centerbrook.
Anyone who thinks they may have any information about the armed robbery, or who may know the identity of the suspect is asked to contact Troop Moran #1064 at Troop F in Westbrook at 860-399-2100 or text TIP711 with any information to 274637. All calls will remain confidential.
