State Police Detectives Make Arrest in Hartford Juvenile Voyeurism Investigation

During September 2016 the Hartford Police Department responded to the Walmart store in Hartford after receiving reports of a male video recording female children in the store with a cell phone.  The accused, John Bean, was arrested and his cell phone was seized by Hartford Police.

Members of Homeland Security Investigations conducted a forensic examination of Bean's cell phone and located voyeuristic videos of female children being recorded in public places within the store.  Homeland Security Investigations forwarded the information to the Connecticut State Police Computer Crimes Unit for further investigation.

A review of the voyeuristic videos revealed that there were four videos containing upskirt footage of female children while they were shopping in public places such as Walmart and other stores.  Through the course of the investigation it was determined that Bean was the one who had taken the upskirt videos of the female children.

State Police detectives concluded their investigation and applied for, and were granted, an arrest warrant for John Bean.

On March 6, 2017 John Bean (dob 12/28/69) of 5 Gorman Place, East Hartford, turned himself in to State Police Computer Crimes detectives at Troop H-Hartford.  Bean was charged with 4 counts of Voyeurism and 4 counts of Risk of Injury to a Minor.  John Bean was held on $175,000.00 bond and transported to Hartford Superior Court for arraignment.
