On Wednesday, February 17, 2010, State Troopers from Troop-D in Danielson were notified by the Killingly Intermediate School that an eleven year old female student had not shown up for school and was absent without an excuse.  Troopers responded to the student’s residence and found her home alone.  It was learned that the student’s primary caregiver, Michelle L. Kasseris, was in Florida and had left the eleven year old student home alone.  State Troopers spoke with Michelle Kasseris by phone and learned that she was in Florida and would not be returning to Connecticut until February19, 2010.  Troopers contacted The Department of Children and Families and the student was placed in their supervision.  Troopers also prepared an arrest warrant for Michelle Kasseris.

On Monday, February 22, 2010, Troopers served the arrest warrant on Michelle Kasseris at her home in Killingly.  She was held on a $50,000.00 bond and scheduled to appear in Danielson Superior Court on Tuesday February, 23, 2010.
