State Police Memorial Day Stats

   The following is a summary of the State Police motor vehicle Memorial Day weekend enforcement.  The Operation started on 05/28/10 at midnight and continued until midnight on 05/31/10.

   From 05/28/10 midnight until 05/31/10  midnight:

Accidents:  249

Accidents with Injury: 45

Fatal Accidents:  1

DWI Arrests:  76

Seatbelt Violations: 944

Speeding Tickets:  1,729

   The Memorial Day weekend enforcement operation utilized additional Troopers who manned sobriety checkpoints, targeted DWI areas and strictly enforced aggressive driving on all roads and highways across Connecticut.

   Motorists are reminded that the enforcement effort will continue throughout the summer months. Join our team and be our eyes and ears.  If you see a suspected drunk driver call 911, as this is a true emergency. Help the State Police keep the highways and roadways of Connecticut safe.
