STATE POLICE INVESTIGATE BOMB THREAT AT BRADLEY AIRPORT

     On 11-13-2009 at about 12:30 P.M. a telephone call came into Bradley Airport general information line reporting a bomb threat.  The threat was general in nature and did not refer to a specific location.

     State Police were immediately notified, along with FBI, TSA, and Airport Security and responded to the scene. State Police Emergency Services K-9 Troopers with explosive detection dogs also responded to the scene and conducted a search of the area.  State Police also had additional personnel respond to the scene to assist with searching the area.  No explosives were found.

     According to Bradley Airport Operations the threat did not disrupt normal operations of the airport.  State Police did shut down two parking garages to incoming traffic to allow explosive detection dogs to check the area.   At no time was the airport evacuated.

     State Police Major Crime Detectives also responded to the airport to initiate a criminal investigation into this threatening incident.  Detectives are pursing leads in this case.

At this time this case remains under investigation and is continuing.
